Position Description: • Manage and ensure full compliance with Article 28, Article 29i, ACS, DOH, and OCFS polices. Correct and report and report any variances. • Responsible for the supervision of the clinic activities to ensure that all medical visits and encounters are in compliance with the agency procedures • Monitor and track caseload and oversee cases in the region to meet timeframes of the regulatory agencies. • Oversees the day to day activities of the clinic staff. • Monitor the clinic schedule and flow • Responsible for training of all new nursing staff and on-going training and compliance thereafter. • Assist in triage of patients, perform venipuncture, perform vision and hearing screening, administer immunizations as ordered • Provide any necessary or mandated nurse screenings and counseling, Provide appropriate, related education or literature to children and families as required. • Must demonstrate computer literacy, create and maintain the Electronic Health Record (EHR) for each child/youth and complete documentation of all health services rendered in the EHR. • Utilize and monitor systems to ensure that all children and youth receive the required and necessary health services within the mandated timeframes. • Ensure that appointments for referrals with community providers are made and that reports from the encounters with off-site providers are obtained in a timely manner, reviewed by the agency health care provider and scanned into the medical record. The reason for missed appointments must be documented and missed appointments must be rescheduled. Coordinate dental sessions with dental vendor. • Work closely with social work staff to assure that required consents for routine/emergency care, preplanned medical procedures and psychotropic medication are obtained within mandated timeframes. • Assist in implementing and maintaining an efficient quality assurance/Continuous Quality Improvement system and to monitor on-going compliance. • Ensure that medical records contain documentation of all required adolescent risk assessments and STD risk reduction/family planning counseling. • Enter health information data onto data entry forms as required and forward to IT specialist for data entry in a timely manner. • Interface with Vaccine for Children Program and NYCIR. Ensure vaccines are appropriately stored/monitored and that information on all vaccines administered, is entered into the NYCIR and the EHR on a timely basis. Obtain historical immunization information when available. • Complete camp, WIC, adoption, school and any other medical forms as required. • Monitor health and mental health care information and ensure ongoing case management. Full-Time - 35 Hours/Week (Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm; Flexible) - Administrative oversight of nursing staff at IRA locations. - Ensure OPWDD regulations are followed - Oversee the management nursing staff and ensuring that all NYF policies and standards are met - Oversee management of medical records and documentation by assigned nurses. - Works with nurses and residential staff to ensure medical needs of the individuals are being met and documented appropriately and in accordance with OPWDD regulation. - Responsible to ensure that medical record contains complete documentation of all required health services. - Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to assist in development of treatment and health care plans, if necessary. - Ensures that the nurses are working closely with the residential staff to ensure that required consents for routine/emergency care, preplanned medical procedures and psychotropic medication are obtained within mandated timeframes and all appointments are made and attended. - Conducts health education/training and OPWDD required in services; including: - Signs and Symptoms, Specific health needs of the individuals, Infection control, OSHA guidelines, AMAP training and re-certification. - May be asked to sit on CQI, ICC, HRC, IRC committees. - Responsible to ensure quarterly medication reviews for Bronx group homes and institution.   Other Requirements: Current NYS RN License Knowledge of or experience in developmental disabilities Knowledge of and experience in health care management and administration Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be computer literate.
