Responsibilities

  • Reports to assigned program Assistant Vice President.
  • Provides home-based clinical treatment utilizing Functional Family Therapy for caseload of up to 4 cases and provides coverage for peer's caseload as needed, and will provide flexibility of carrying more cases as needed due to utilization needs
  • Working with youth and their families who are at risk of entering the Juvenile Justice System to prevent system entrance
  • Manages the extensive travel requirements involved in serving families in their homes and in the community.
  • Manage and oversees one of the KEYS FFT teams by providing guidance and direct supervision for the implementation of clinical services related to the model and to FAP protocols and ensuring treatment fidelity.
  • Model adequate standard of care for fellow clinicians by conducting best practice with clients through model adherence and regulatory standards from stakeholders.    
  • Conduct weekly group consultation and coaching for assigned team to assure adherence to Functional Family therapy principles and associated analytical processes. Assure that clinicians achieve engagement with all key participants of the family.
  • Applies and is adherent to NYF Coaching and Mentoring Model for the program including staff development as well as the performance evaluation process.  
  • Promotes staff engagement and a positive work environment to support in maintaining staff morale and organizational work culture
  • Participates in all required agency and model/stakeholder trainings, individual and group coaching, staff meetings, and any other stakeholder or agency meetings that are required.
  • Adhere to model expectations and implement with fidelity.
  • Ensure team consistently meets all program and model Key Performance Indicators (including session pacing, required casework contacts, successful client outcomes, timely completion of Family Assessment Service Plans, data entry delay etc.).
  • Responsible for ensuring best case practice by reviewing data and tracking Key Performance Indicators, completing monthly Program Monitoring Report (PMR), participating in monthly PMR meetings and completing regular case reviews. 
  • Manages the extensive documentation requirements in all databases to successfully comply with various mandates from agency, FAP, ACS, and other stakeholders, including model developers and consultants.
  • Completion of supervisory reviews to ensure that all safety and risk concerns are addressed in documentation and are following the assigned model and stakeholder expectations
  • Identify community-based resources for families, collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders/providers (i.e., FAP, ACS, schools, doctors, mental health providers, courts, etc.) to monitor participation in services and accompany families to appointments if needed.
  • Provides 24/7 coverage during the week and participates on a weekend on-call rotational schedule as applicable.
  • Responsible for assignment of cases to staff.
  • Identify and address family risk factors that give rise to possible child removal, ACS involvement, and out of home placement due to continued referral behavior or new risk/safety factors. This includes the completion, review and approval of safety plans and incident reports if necessary.
  • In coordination with the AVP: interview, make hiring decisions, and onboarding planning of frontline staff

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental health Counseling or related subject area is required

 

Provisionally licensed (such as LPMHC, LPMFT, LPLCAT, LMSW, LMFT, LMHC, LCAT or LCSW) is preferred.

 

** Depending on model and program, model manager will support in determining fit for role.

 

Preferred Knowledge:

  • Must also be familiar with the organizational and procedural guidelines (i.e., agency mission, culture, administrative structure) of relevant collateral agencies (i.e., juvenile or family court, probate court, social services agencies).
  • Experience with clinical management / supervision of staff
  • An understanding and commitment to complying with the New York State Central Register of Abuse and Neglect protocol (requiring staff to comply with promulgated requirements to report any suspected abuse, maltreatment or neglect of any child).
  • Experience with common clinical problems, e.g., child abuse and neglect, aggression, family conflict, depression, drug use, traumatic events, truancy
  • Direct use of pragmatic (i.e. structural, strategic and functional) family therapies
  • Behavioral therapy targeting school behavior and academic performance · Implementation of interventions within or between systems in the youth’s natural ecology that affect or influence the behavior of youth (i.e. family, peer, school, and neighborhood
  • Experience with cross-agency collaboration
  • Experience in managing direct service providers who engage with the identified populations or similar population in high-risk court-involved youth either in Family Court or Adult Court, Child-Welfare programs.
  • Direct use of pragmatic (i.e., structural, strategic and functional) family therapies
  • Individual therapy with children and adults using cognitive behavioral techniques
  • Marital therapy using behaviorally-based approaches
  • Substance abuse treatment for adults and children using behaviorally-based approaches
  • Behavioral therapy targeting behavioral change in children at home and school
  • Trauma treatment for adults and children using exposure and cognitive therapies 
  • Implementation of interventions within or between systems in the family’s natural ecology (i.e., family, peer, school, and neighborhood)
  • Strong understanding and the ability to implement the following:
      • Family safety planning
      • Risk and Safety assessments
      • Social skills assessment and intervention
      • Crisis Management 
      • Incident Reporting
      • Creating and following a Treatment Plan

    Other Requirements

    • Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, and Data entry systems (e.g. Connections, Electronic Health Record).
    • Excellent communication skills required.
    • Be well-versed in safety protocols, opening and closing protocols, as well as mandated reporter requirements.
    • Complete incident reports in a timely and concise manner
    • Collaborate with other agency programs and support departments.
    • Provides access to licensure clinical supervision to eligible staff and runs Licensure Group Supervision for clinical staff if licensed.
    • Responsible for ongoing active participation towards clinical licensure
    • Provides coverage as needed for therapist and/or for operation hours.
    • Respond to email correspondences in a timely manner.

Education Required

Masters’s Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution or Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution
