The primary purpose of the Special Assistant to the President and CEO is to provide executive support and serve as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. This role involves coordinating executive outreach, managing special projects, and acting as a liaison to the board of directors and senior management teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic initiatives by coordinating with the Strategic Initiatives team, ensuring the successful execution of the President's outreach activities and fostering long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to enhance the President's engagement with internal and external audiences, ensuring consistent and impactful messaging that aligns with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis on issues and concerns addressed to the President, providing well-informed recommendations and action plans to address sensitive or confidential matters effectively.
  • Facilitate cross-divisional collaboration by coordinating travel and outreach plans, ensuring alignment and synergy between different departments to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Oversee special projects with organizational impact, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within scope, and contribute to the strategic goals of the organization.
  • Build and maintain relationships with board members, donors, and external partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to support the organization's initiatives and fundraising efforts.
  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships by identifying and cultivating relationships with key external stakeholders, enhancing the organization's network and influence
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the board of directors, managing logistics for board meetings, ensuring compliance with bylaws, and maintaining discretion and confidentiality in all board-related matters.

Organizational expectations include:

  • Regular and punctual time and attendance, and adherence to The Foundling's and your department’s specific time and attendance policies and protocol.
  • Consistent demonstrated commitment to The Foundling's BHAG, mission, vision and values (Compassion, Dignity, Family and Community, Diversity, Excellence).
  • Adherence to The Foundling's employee policies, Code of Conduct and applicable rules, laws, regulations or bargaining agreements.
  • Appropriate engagement with support departments to ensure appropriate and timely hiring, performance management, investigation, discipline, suspension, and restructuring decisions concerning direct reports. Regular supervision and performance evaluation of direct reports.
  • Any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned.

Qualifications

Other Requirements:

 

  • One to two years of experience as an Administrative Assistant preferred, including experience with Microsoft excel and word; and email.
  • Excellent communicator and have good interpersonal skills. 
  • Must be a good writer and have demonstrated ability to complete tasks in a timely manner. 

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Has experience with being an Admin
  • Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office {which also include, excel, word, and Publisher}

Education Required

Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution or Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution
