The Youth Coach provides supportive services to youth in the Family Respite Program. The Coach is a highly trained professional working on an interdisciplinary team that helps the young people we serve navigate challenges, connect them to programs, resources, peer groups and opportunities in line with the young peoples goals.

 

Salary Range: $ 28.86/hour - $32.87/hour

Responsibilities

The Youth Coach provides supportive services to youth in the Family Respite Program. The Coach is a highly trained professional working on an interdisciplinary team that helps the young people we serve navigate challenges, connect them to programs, resources, peer groups and opportunities in line with the young peoples goals.

Responsibilities: 

  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide ongoing social and emotional support to youth by building trusting, therapeutic relationships. Continuously assess for safety, respond to crises, and implement appropriate interventions to ensure the overall well-being and stability of each youth throughout their involvement in the program
  • Facilitate individual and group sessions focused on developing life skills, fostering community resource connections, preparing for educational advancement, and providing leadership training to youth. These efforts will empower youth to build resilience, increase self-sufficiency, and prepare for future success.
  • Provides and responsible for engaging youth in goal setting as it relates to interpersonal skills, academic, career, & housing goals. This requires flexibility with meeting location and time.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with colleagues, & stakeholders in the community to connect youth to resources
  • Participate in group, individual coaching, trainings, and all staff meetings to stregthen professional development, skill growth, & group cohesion
  • Ensure the timely and accurate documentation of session notes in CONNXs, Evolv, and other required database systems. This documentation will support case continuity, ensure compliance with program requirements, and provide a comprehensive record of youth progress and interventions to inform ongoing service delivery.

Salary Range: $ 28.86/hour - $32.87/hour

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human/Social Service related field (including education, psychology, social work, or a related subject area). Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred but not required
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in child welfare, social services, or related field and strong ability to engage and work with older at risk youth
  • Excellent writing, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines, & prioritize multiple tasks efficiently
  • Ability to work with diverse population and work from a strengths-based, trauma-informed, youth development lens
  • Ability to receive and execute feedback to professionally grow and/or improve and be flexible with programmatic needs and changes
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Programs ( Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and ability to quickly learn and retain use of various database systems ( Connections, Evolv)
  • Must be able to travel to meet youth in their homes, in the community and as needed

Education Required

Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution or Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution
