Responsibilities

***UP TO $2,000 SIGN ON INCENTIVE***

Position Description: 

  • Reports to assigned program Assistant Vice President.
  • Provides home-based clinical treatment utilizing Functional Family Therapy (FFT) as an Alternative to Incarceration program for clients between the ages of 13 to 27.
  • Provide home-based interventions to a caseload of 4 families and provide coverage for peer's caseload as needed.
  • Manages the travel requirements involved in serving families in their homes. Can work with clients in up to two boroughs.
  • Attend all court appearances with clients and provide an update on treatment to the court.
  • Supervises the team’s communication with court, including editing and approving court reports and court notifications.
  • Manage and oversee the assigned model/program by providing guidance and direct supervision for the implementation of clinical services related to the model and ensuring treatment fidelity.  Oversees model adequate standard of care for fellow clinicians by conducting best practice with clients through model adherence and regulatory standards from stakeholders.    
  • Conduct weekly group supervision for assigned team to assure adherence to model/program principles and associated analytic process. Assure that clinicians achieve engagement with all key participants.
  • Applies and is adherent to NYF Coaching and Mentoring Model for the program including staff development as well as the performance evaluation process.  
  • Promotes staff engagement and a positive work environment to support in maintaining staff morale.
  • Participates in all required agency and model/stakeholder trainings, individual and group coaching and staff meetings.
  • Adhere to model expectations and implements services and supervision with fidelity.
  • Ensure team consistently meets all program and model Key Performance Indicators (including session pacing, required casework contacts, successful client outcomes, data entry delay etc.).
  • Responsible for ensuring best case practice by reviewing data and tracking Key Performance Indicators, completing monthly Program Monitoring Reports (PMR), participating in monthly PMR meetings and completing regular case reviews. 
  • Manages the extensive documentation requirements in all databases to successfully comply with various mandates from agency, court, and other stakeholders, including model.
  • Completion of supervisory reviews to ensure that all safety and risk concerns are addressed in documentation and are in compliance with the assigned model and supervisory review feedback.
  • Identify community-based resources for families, collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders/providers (i.e., ACS, schools, doctors, mental health providers, courts, etc.) to monitor participation in services and accompany families to appointments if needed.
  • Provides 24/7 coverage during the week and participates in weekend phone coverage for emergencies.
  • Responsible for outreach to court and community stakeholders for referrals and supporting with case assignments.
  • Identify and address family risk factors that give rise to possible re-arrest or incarceration due to continued referral behaviors or new risk/safety factors. This includes the completion, review and approval of safety plans and incident reports if necessary.
  • In coordination with the AVP: interview, make hiring decisions, and onboarding planning of frontline staff.
  • Participate in agency leadership seminars and trainings.
  • Be well-versed in safety protocols, opening and closing protocols.
  • Collaborate with other agency programs and support departments.
  • Provides access to licensure clinical supervision to eligible staff and runs Licensure Group Supervision for clinical staff if licensed.
  • Responsible for ongoing active participation towards clinical licensure
  • Provides coverage as needed for therapist and/or for operation hours.
  • Respond to email correspondences in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental health Counseling or related subject area

Other Requirements

  • Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, and Data entry systems (e.g. Connections, Electronic Health Record).
  • Excellent communication skills required.

 

Preferred Knowledge:

  • Must also be familiar with the organizational and procedural guidelines (i.e., agency mission, culture, administrative structure) of relevant collateral agencies (i.e., juvenile or supreme court, probate court, social services agencies).
  • Experience with clinical management / supervision of staff
  • An understanding and commitment to complying with the New York State Central Register of Abuse and Neglect protocol (requiring staff to comply with promulgated requirements to report any suspected abuse, maltreatment or neglect of any child).
  • Experience with common clinical problems, e.g., child abuse and neglect, aggression, family conflict, depression, drug use, traumatic events, truancy
  • Direct use of pragmatic (i.e. structural, strategic and functional) family therapies and training in Functional Family Therapy.
  • Experience with cross-agency collaboration
  • Experience in supervising direct service providers who engage with the identified populations or similar populations.
  • Implementation of interventions within or between systems in the youth’s natural ecology that affect or influence the behavior of youth (i.e. family, peer, school, and neighborhood)
  • Experience working with clients utilizing trauma informed and evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral techniques.
  • Strong understanding and the ability to implement the following:
      • Family safety planning
      • Risk and Safety assessments
      • Social skills assessment and intervention
      • Crisis Management 
      • Incident Reporting
      • Creating and following a Treatment Plan

Education Required

Masters’s Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution or Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution
