The New York Foundling is seeking an Assistant Vice President of Institutional Giving to join its Development team. This position will report directly to the Vice President, Development & Communications. S/he will oversee a team of three—a Senior Grant Writer, Grant Writer, and Institutional Giving Associate—as well as contract grant writers and consultants on an as-needed basis. This position will be responsible for overseeing and expanding The Foundling’s active portfolio of city, state, and federal government contracts, and all private foundation grant proposals. This position will also work collaboratively with senior managers in Programs, Finance, and Quality Assurance to make decisions on program service priorities in the agency. This position requires a well-defined knowledge base and experience in child welfare and social services field, as well as a minimum of five years grant writing experience, exceptional writing and organizational skills, ability to learn quickly on the job, and strong interpersonal skills for working with the government sector and private funders and administrative and program staff. The candidate should possess the ability to manage projects independently, set priorities, and take initiative as well as work as part of a cohesive senior level team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000/year
