Responsibilities

Position Description:

 

Assistant Vice President, Providers, Medical Services ensures all services delivered by the NYF medical teams are of the highest quality, and meeting the needs of the patients and families. Directly supervises the medical providers

 

  1. Develop and implement strategic and tactical business plans including operational goals and performance targets which are consistent with the mission of NYF. Work closely with the Senior Vice President in preparation, monitoring and management of the strategic goals and business plans.
  2. Provides excellent clinical care to patients and families, and models professionalism and best-practice care for all teams. Supports other medical providers in real-time clinical care decisions, as needed.
  3. Directly supervises the medical providers, including physicians and nurse practitioners. Responsible for the design and implementation of regular chart reviews, performance reviews, and other quality control activities to ensure excellent medical care is provided at all health centers.
  4. Collaborates proactively with other division leadership at NYF to ensure smooth collaboration and workflows across departments.
  5. Oversees provider safety, and infection control at all sites, which includes fidelity to workflows and processes, and re-design of these processes as needed. Collaborates with other medical and facilities leadership to ensure sites are compliant and inspection-ready at all times.
  6. Collaborates with SVP to design and implement outreach and service delivery models to increase patient access and utilization of services, as appropriate, and in financial monitoring and decision making consistent with a balanced budget.
  7. Collaborates with the SVP and HR to ensure and measure patient, parent and stakeholder satisfaction with the care and services delivered at the NYF Health Centers.
  8. Key member of medical leadership. Collaborates with other NYF departments to maintain efficient cross-division
    workflows, strong morale, and staff satisfaction.
Salary Range: $235,000-$260,000/year

Qualifications

  • MD or Equivalent. Active NYS license and DEA License. Up to date BLS, infection control, mandated reported, and DEA Optiate training. Board Certified in Pediatrics or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of clinical experience in ambulatory pediatric or equivalent settings; Experience with foster care of  other special populations valued.
  • Strong management skills, including performance management, team-buillding, and supportive problem-solving.
  • Strong clinical training skills. This includes creating and delivering presentations to small groups, and the ability to train, supervise, and oversee all elements of pediatric clinical care.
  • Excellent skills with technology, including Microsoft office, Electronic Health Records, online systems such as CIR, VIS, and other medical records/databases.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration with other departmental leaders, clinical teams, and external stakeholders. Represents NYF values through professionalism and compassion at all times.
  • Willingness to go to all NYF Health Centers, AOBH, and other sites as needed to provide and supervise care.
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety.

Education Required

Masters’s Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution or Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution
