Founded in 1997, The Vincent J. Fontana Center for Child Protection was created in furtherance of The New York Foundling’s mission and named in recognition of Dr. Fontana, a pioneer in the field of child maltreatment and agency’s former Medical Director. The Fontana Center engages in research, professional training, public education and advocacy and aims to eliminate child maltreatment through the identification and promotion of evidence-based primary prevention and treatment strategies. Position is remote.

Provide educationally oriented part-time, unpaid summer internship related to children's mental health for current New York University undergraduate student as we are an affiliate clinical site via formal affiliation agreement.

Provide educationally oriented part-time, unpaid summer internship related to children's mental health for current New York University undergraduate student as we are an affiliate clinical site via formal affiliation agreement.

• Develop content and assist with dissemination via different digital/print forums
• Assist with updating lectures for Psychological Maltreatment Alliance partner
•  Exposure to a variety of topics in and around the topic of child welfare through education programming
• Participate in different partnership organization committee meetings to further gain exposure
• Assist Vice President, Director of Programs, Director of Research, and Senior Administrative Assistant with administrative tasks
• receive supervision and support for CAMS related research project (i.e. literature review, poster, 
  presentation, etc.)
• receive ongoing direct supervision from child and adolescent psychiatrist

• current undergraduate student with New York University affiliation
  
  
• High School diploma / G.E.D.
• Demonstrated strong interest in children's mental health
• Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, and Data entry systems (e.g. Connections, Electronic Health Record). 
• interest in web design / navigating social media
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• ability to work well as part of a team
• Familiarity with the organizational and procedural guidelines (i.e., agency mission, culture, administrative structure) of relevant collateral agencies (i.e., juvenile or family court, probate court, social services agencies).
