The Supervisor plays a key role in implementing The New York Foundling's Child Abuse Prevention Program (CAPP). CAPP’s primary mission is to support families and communities by taking a three-pronged approach to preventing child abuse and maltreatment. The CAPP Supervisor will manage a team of Prevention Specialists tasked with presenting the program’s Child Safety Workshop to 20,000 NYC school children annually. The Supervisor will be responsible for managing workshop and program schedules, design and creation of workshop content and promotional materials, and supporting Prevention Specialists in the facilitation and implementation of abuse prevention workshops for students, families, and professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Report to assigned Assistant Vice President
  • Serve as program's primary contact for all partnered school counselors/social workers throughout the year, aid in responding to student safety concerns and abuse related disclosures
  • Liaise with child protection advocates, youth organizations, and artists on projects, workshops and conferences.
  • Participates in all required agency, model and stakeholder trainings
  • Supervise CAPP Prevention Specialists. Applies and is adherent to NYF Coaching and Mentoring Model to support staff development and complete performance evaluation process. Leads group supervision.
  • Support Assistant Vice President in appropriate engagement with support departments to ensure appropriate and timely hiring, performance management, investigation, discipline, suspension, and restructuring decisions concerning direct reports. Regular supervision and performance evaluation of direct reports.
  • Manage the scheduling and implementation of on-boarding/off-boarding, and training for Prevention Specialists
  • Coordinate content, scheduling, and facilitation of all program trainings and workshops for students, parents, and professionals
  • Use relevant research and best practice to edit, update, and create all program trainings, workshops, and resources
  • Facilitate CAPP student and parent workshops as needed. Provide coverage for Prevention Specialists when absent
  • Regular school site visits to support in team performance
  • Ensure program is meeting all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Schedule and lead case review meetings, including agendas and follow-up items
  • Support Prevention Specialists in emergency cases and situations resulting from children’s abuse disclosure.
  • Maintain regular communication with adjacent program leads and supervisors, promote cross-department collaboration.
  • With support of Assistant Vice President, facilitate collaborative cross-trainings with Child Advocacy Centers and Administration for Children’s Services
  • Assist Assistant Vice President in all fundraising, financial and development initiatives
  • Represent program and agency at local and national conferences, including at Department of Education Designated Liaison Trainings for Mandated Reporters
  • Network with school and community members to develop ongoing partnerships for presentation of student, parent, and professional workshops.
  • Participate in scheduled coaching with AVP to discuss program needs and identify areas for professional development. Attend coaching, group coaching, and departmental staff meeting as part of professional development and integration.
  • Available and accessible to staff, schools, and program, and willing to provide coverage, and on-call support.
  • Respond to email correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Provide supervision to intern of the program, as needed.
  • Regular and punctual time and attendance, and adherence to The Foundling’s and department’s specific time and attendance policies and protocol.
  • Consistent demonstrated commitment to The Foundling’s mission, vision and values (Compassion, Dignity, Family and Community, Diversity, Excellence).
  • Adherence to The Foundling’s employee policies, Code of Conduct and applicable rules, laws, regulations or bargaining agreements.
  • Any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned.

 

Salary Range: $70,000 - $73,500/year

Qualifications

Masters Degree Required. 

    •  
    • Experiencing supervising and leading a team, preferred.
    • Candidates who are bilingual in Spanish are particularly encouraged to apply.
    • Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, and Data entry systems.
    • Experiencing designing promotional materials (flyers, emails, handouts) preferred.
    • Able to deliver effective instruction across all core subjects.
    • Compassionate and patient, and sensitive to the needs of our target population.
    • Proficient in or able to quickly learn a wide range of academic subjects at multiple grade levels.
    • Able to develop and tailor lessons that fit diverse populations' needs.
    • Capable of working in a group setting, and of giving and receiving critical feedback.
    • Detail oriented, responsible, and punctual.
    • Previous tutoring or teaching experience preferred.
    • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety
