The Assistant Finance Controller will report directly to the Controller and dotted line to the Chief Financial Officer ICFO), on specific projects. Assistant Finance Controller should be experienced in all aspects of non-profit fiscal management, regulatory and financial reporting. budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of Internal control policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist Controller and CFO with management of all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P
  • Coordinate and assist with the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
  • Assist Controller with prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
  • Assist CFO and Controller with the preparation of regulatory reporting including annual and periodic program review audits as well as annual CFR and SSOP
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance and Controller and CFO as needed
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Take lead role in establishing, maintaining and periodically performing audit procedures, as they relate to revenue billing and OMIG compliance, working with senior program staff
  • Take lead role in working with senior program staff to resolve financial issues, review contract fiscal compliance and communicate financial trends
  • Assist in analysis and tracking of investment portfolio
  • Learn general ledger system and assist in preparation ad hoc financial reports and month end financial reporting
  • Additional controller duties as necessary

Salary Range: $150,000 to $165,000/year

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 10 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • CPA preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with financial statement preparation for all types of legal entities
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Experience In preparing and review of partnership, corporate, payroll and non-profit tax filings
  • Experience with non-profit, low income housing and property management organizations preferred
  • Experience with various accounting software administration - Great Plains experience will be helpful
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety.

 

Education Required

Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution or Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution
